The most Westerly Place in the UK [except Rockall] is Corrachadh Mòr, in the Highlands of Scotland: 56°42′N, 6°13′W. Corrachadh Mòr is a small hillock on the Ardnamurchan peninsula in Lochaber, Scotland, this area of the UK is only notable for adjoining the most westerly point on the island of United Kingdom. Corrachadh Mòr, which means ‘Great, tapering field’ in the Scottish Gaelic is around 36 kilometres (or around 22 miles) further west than Land’s End in Cornwall.
Corrachadh Mòr does present bird watching opportunities as well as sea fishing opportunities, although you need to be very careful as this area often has strong winds and strong sea currents.
